Welcome to the Malvern Hang Gliding and Paragliding Site
17/8/2016 - URGENT AND IMPORTANT NOTICE
We are in real danger of losing our Pinnacle Hill East (Kettle Sings) landing field due to an upset landowner just to the North. It is imperative that all pilots are polite and courteous and do not go on his land or use or block his driveway. Re-read the site guide if you are not 100% clear where this is.
28/7/2016 - There is currently NO BOTTOM LANDING FIELD at LECKHAMPTON. Due to a change of ownership at Mulberry House we currently do not have permission to land in the usual landing field.

Malvern Hang Gliding Club
The club was established 1975 for Hang Glider pilots, and now also welcomes the growing number of Paraglider pilots. There is an enormous amount of experience in free-flight of many types, cross country flying as well as coaching of newly qualified pilots. Membership is only £12 per year, and is open to qualified pilots rated CP or above. Please see the "Learn to Fly" section for information about how to become qualified. Membership gives you access to fly all of the hills that the Malvern club uses, free reserve parachute repack once per year, monthly club meetings that cover many things from expeditions, flight techniques, improving your skills, new technology and a very friendly group who love flying.
The club members participate in many flying holidays through the year which all members are invited to join. The main club holiday is an annual pilgrimage to Piedrahita to fly the mountains and flat lands of central Spain. Many pilots achieve personal best flights here for cross country flying.
The club has a high number of coaches who are able to assist newly qualified pilots and help them to build their hours and improve their flying skills both in the air and on the ground. Although there is a 15hrs post CP requirement for flying the Malvern hills, this is waived if you are with an MHGC coach. Many pilots have gained their first several hours flying on the beautiful Malvern hills. As newly qualified pilots progress the coaches will assist with their first cross country flights where they can witness the amazing landscape of the vale of Evesham to the East and Herefordshire to the West from as high as around 6000ft.
If you would like to join MHGC as either a Hang glider or Paraglider pilot then go to "Join the Club" in the main menu. Or if you simply wish to talk to one of the coaches their contact details are available in the "coaches" section.
If you would like to come to a club meeting to see who we are then you're more than welcome. Details are listed on this page along with upcoming events. Please contact the Social Secretary or one of the Coaches before-hand to ensure you get welcomed and introduced at the meeting.
